The history of corn !

Mar 11, 2022

There are many aliases for corn. Some places are called sticks, and Baogu.

The origin of corn is in South America. Peru, which is well known, has the term "corn warehouse" in Indian. Archaeologists have found the oldest wild corn ears in the remains of the Tewantepec isthmus in southern Mexico.

The ancient city ruins are still preserved near the coast of Peru, and a large number of corn kernels and ear patterns are embedded in the unearthed pottery and buildings. Analysis of these relics, archaeologists speculate that the earliest indigenous Indians in South America began to grow corn extensively between 4000 and 5000 years ago.

In 1492, the Italian navigator Columbus arrived in the American continent and discovered the corn. He brought it back to Spain that year. He enthusiastically introduced the corn, a crop that was worshipped by the Indians as a natural god in the nautical report. He wrote: There is a kind of grain called corn, which is sweet and delicious, baked and can be made into powder." Since then, corn has spread all over Europe and spread all over the world.
