It also lists vitamin C, beta-carotene, folate and potassium. These figures describe one reference food entry, not every brand, variety or production lot.
Freezing itself does not add sugar. The important distinction is between plain, unsweetened mango and a product made with syrup, sugar or other ingredients. Ripeness, variety, trimming, water content, processing, storage and the analytical method can all change the reported values. For a retail label or an industrial specification, use the actual recipe, destination-market rules and current product data rather than copying a generic table.
The short answer: Unsweetened frozen mango can contribute vitamin C, provitamin A carotenoids and fiber, but most of its energy comes from natural fruit carbohydrate. Read the ingredient list and Nutrition Facts panel, and treat database figures as a reference rather than a batch guarantee.

FDA guidance explains that "Total Sugars" on a U.S. label includes sugars naturally present in fruit as well as any added sugars. "Added Sugars" is a separate line. This is why a buyer or consumer should check both the ingredient list and the nutrition panel: "mango" is different from "mango, sugar" or mango packed in syrup.
Vitamin C and carotenoids have real roles, but mango is not medicine
The NIH Office of Dietary Supplements explains that vitamin C is required for collagen synthesis and supports nonheme-iron absorption and normal immune function. Its vitamin A guidance explains that the body can convert some food carotenoids, including beta-carotene, into vitamin A. Those are established nutrient functions. They do not mean that frozen mango prevents disease, replaces a varied diet or guarantees a particular health outcome.

Is Frozen Mango as Nutritious as Fresh Mango?
There is no single universal percentage that describes nutrient retention after freezing. A study comparing refrigerated and frozen storage in eight fruits and vegetables found that results depended on the commodity; most tested items showed no significant fresh-versus-frozen difference for the minerals, fiber and total phenolics measured. Mango was not among those eight foods, so the study supports a cautious general principle rather than a mango-specific guarantee.

A mango-specific thawing study found differences in color change, drip loss, firmness and vitamin C retention among thawing methods. That is especially relevant to food manufacturers and foodservice users: nutrition is only one part of performance, and the same frozen piece may behave differently in a smoothie, yogurt inclusion, bakery filling or plated dessert.
The safest comparison is therefore matched data: fresh and frozen samples of the same variety, maturity and edible portion, tested using compatible methods. Comparing two unrelated database entries can create a false sense of precision.

Plain Frozen Mango, Sweetened Mango and Prepared Dishes
Plain frozen mango should be evaluated as fruit. Its total sugars are mainly intrinsic to the mango, and the serving size determines the amount eaten.
Sweetened frozen mango may contain added sugar, syrup or concentrated juice. The ingredient list and added-sugars declaration show whether the product differs from plain fruit.
