Okra is an annual herb. The stem is cylindrical, sparse and stinging. Leaves palmate, lobes broad to sulcate, stipules linear, sparsely pubescent. Flowers are solitary in leaf axils, peduncle sparsely sessile, especially from May to September.
Okra prefers a warm environment, native to India, and widely cultivated in tropical and subtropical regions. China's Hunan, Hubei, Guangdong and other provinces also have a wide area of planting. It is known as the king of vegetables and has high economic value and edible value.
