Step 1: The Foundation – License to Operate (LTO)

 

  Before you can import a single box of frozen strawberries or mango chunks, your company must exist in the FDA system. You need a License to Operate (LTO) as a Food Importer.

 

  You apply for this through the FDA e-portal system. The government checks your warehouse, your office, and your ability to handle food products safely. Once you have this license, you have the legal right to engage in the food business. However, an LTO does not let you import specific products yet. For that, you need the next crucial step.

 

 

Step 2: Product Registration (CPR)

 

  This is the most critical phase. Every specific product (like "Frozen Strawberry Dice" or "Frozen Mango Halves") needs its own Certificate of Product Registration (CPR). You cannot ship the goods until you hold this certificate.

 

  To get the CPR, you must submit a "E-Registration" application to the FDA. As your supplier, we provide the specific technical documents you need to upload. The FDA evaluates the product based on safety and labeling.

 

The Technical Documents We Provide

We also declare all Food Allergen Information and provide clear Directions and Instructions for Use. To prove the artwork is real, we also send a Photo of the Item with the Label attached.

You will present your LTO, your valid CPR, and the shipping documents (Bill of Lading, Invoice, Packing List).
