Ingredients:
- Frozen grilled eel
- Soy sauce
- Sugar
- Mirin (Japanese sweet cooking wine)
- Sake (Japanese rice wine)
- Ginger (optional)
- White sesame seeds (optional)
- Steamed rice
Instructions:
1. Take the frozen eel out of the freezer and let it defrost in the refrigerator overnight.
2. Mix 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 2 tablespoons of mirin, 1 tablespoon of sugar, and 1 tablespoon of sake in a saucepan.
3. Heat the sauce over medium heat until the sugar dissolves.
4. Add thinly sliced ginger (optional) to the sauce and continue to heat for a minute.
5. Remove the eel from the package and place it in a shallow baking dish.
6. Preheat the oven to 350°F (180°C).
7. Pour the sauce over the eel and bake in the oven for 20 minutes or until heated through.
8. Sprinkle white sesame seeds (optional) over the eel.
