How To Cook Frozen Edamame

There are various ways to consume frozen edamame, and different methods can be chosen according to personal taste and needs.
1. Boil edamame in salt water
Thawing: Thaw frozen edamame naturally at room temperature, clean and cut off both ends to better absorb the flavor of the seasoning.
Cooking: Put the processed edamame into a pot, add an appropriate amount of water and salt, and add seasonings such as star anise and cinnamon. Bring to a boil over high heat and cook for 7 minutes without covering the pot.
Soaking: After turning off the heat, let the edamame cool naturally and soak for two hours to fully enhance its flavor.
2. Microwave heated chili and sesame edamame
Microwave heating: Put the thawed edamame into a microwave rice cooker, add boiling water to cover the ingredients, add salt, cooking oil, star anise, and fragrant leaves, and microwave for 7 minutes.
Cooling treatment: After heating, remove the edamame and rinse it with cold water. Filter the water and set it aside.
Seasoning: Mix minced garlic, green and red peppers, sesame seeds, chili noodles, etc., drizzle with hot oil until fragrant, then add vinegar, soy sauce, light soy sauce, dark soy sauce, sugar, and salt and stir evenly. Pour the sauce into the edamame and mix well.
3. Spicy braised edamame seasoned with spices
Processing edamame: Thaw and clean the edamame, cut off both ends for easy flavor.
Stir fry spices: Add Sichuan pepper, star anise, dried chili and other spices to a hot oil pan and stir fry until fragrant, then add edamame and stir fry evenly.
Seasoning and braising: Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, soy sauce, sugar and other seasonings, stir fry well, and finally add boiling water to cover the edamame. Cover and braise, then turn off the heat and soak for a richer flavor.
4. Garlic powder and soy sauce flavored edamame
Processing edamame: Thaw and wash the edamame, cut off both ends for easy flavoring.
Boil and cool: Boil the edamame and then rinse with cold water.
Seasoning and mixing: Prepare minced garlic, soy sauce, salt, sugar and other seasonings, mix well, then pour into edamame and mix well.
Refrigerate for flavor: Put the edamame in the refrigerator for one to two hours to make it more flavorful.
5. Dip soy sauce and mustard to enhance flavor
Preparation of dipping sauce: After cooking, prepare a soy sauce and mustard dipping sauce.
Flavor enhancement: Dip the cooked edamame in soy sauce and mustard sauce to add flavor and make the taste richer.
6. Boil in cold water to maintain a bright green color
Put cold water into the pot: Put the washed edamame in cold water until the water level is almost below the edamame.
Seasoning addition: Add salt (slightly more), garlic powder, and soy sauce, mix well, cover and cook over high heat. After the water boils, turn to medium heat and cook with the lid half open. This way, the cooked edamame will have a fresher green color and a just right taste, very flavorful
