General Administration of Customs: China's imports of soybeans from Brazil in July decreased by nearly 4% year-on-year
According to Chinese customs data, China's imports of soybeans from Brazil in July were lower than the same period of the previous year because of the decline in crushing profits, which suppressed import demand.
In July, China imported 7.88 million tons of soybeans from Brazil, a decrease of 3.7% from the 8.18 million tons in the same period last year.
China imported 42,277 tons of soybeans from the United States in July, up from 38,331 tons in the same period last year.
China's total soybean imports in July were 8.67 million tons, down 14.1% year-on-year.
In Rizhao City, Shandong Province, soybean crush profits hit a record low in late June and then rebounded slightly. However, oil plants still lose about 176 yuan per ton of soybeans processed.
Industry insiders have said earlier that with the decline in pig farming profits, the increase in the use of wheat in feed formulations will continue to curb demand for soybean meal. Therefore, China's soybean imports are expected to slow in the next few months.
Tanzanian cashew nut exports will face the pressure of container shortage in Mtwara Port
Tanzania’s mainstream media "Citizen" reported on August 23 that the cashew nut harvest season in Tanzania is coming soon. Tanzania is expected to produce 280,000 tons of cashew nuts for export this season, of which 250,000 tons will be exported from Mtwara Port. However, the logistics industry in Tanzania is generally concerned that due to the global shortage of containers and the backlog of cargo in Dar es Salaam, the port of Mtwara will be under tremendous pressure by then.
Tanzania Shipping Agency said that another reason for the shortage of containers in Tanzania ports is that shipping companies choose international routes such as Europe, America, Asia, and other international routes to make more profits than East Africa routes. Up to 25,000 US dollars.
